Practical Pioneers
Welcome to Practical Pioneers, an exciting new project that's in its early development stages and is located in the beautiful South East region of Northumberland. Our main goal at Practical Pioneers is to create a working care farm where people from all walks of life can come together to discover their potential and make a positive impact.
Imagine a place where you can roll up your sleeves and dive into the world of therapeutic agriculture and horticulture. That's exactly what we're aiming for here at Practical Pioneers. Our vision is to establish a care farm that offers real hands-on experiences in day-to-day farming and gardening activities. By getting involved in these activities, you'll not only learn valuable skills but also find a sense of fulfillment and enjoyment.
Our focus is on making a difference in the lives of young adults (18 and above) and individuals with mild to moderate learning difficulties and additional needs. We believe that everyone deserves the chance to enjoy the great outdoors and engage in meaningful activities. On our farm, you'll have the opportunity to interact with farm animals, allowing you to stay active both physically and mentally as you take part in routine tasks.
But that's not all! Practical Pioneers isn't just for specific groups; it's for anyone seeking a connection to nature and a chance to break free from social isolation. Whether you're looking for a way to stay physically active in a natural setting or simply want to meet new people, our project has something special to offer.
We're excited to involve volunteers in our journey as well. Our farm will be buzzing with activity during regular volunteer days held on weekends. These days will give you the chance to contribute to all aspects of farm life and join a vibrant community of like-minded individuals.
So come join us at Practical Pioneers, where we're paving the way for a brighter future through hands-on farming, outdoor fun, and meaningful connections. Your adventure with us is just beginning!
Can you help support our efforts? The start-up team is aiming to raise the necessary funds to enable the registration of the Community Interest Company which will allow the Practical Pioneers project to forge ahead along with the advice and administrative support from the Northumberland CVA which in turn will allow us to progress towards much needed funding opportunities and ultimately bringing the Practical Pioneers project to fruition. Any help is most appreciated!
